Join Andrew Nicholson and Adam Pinto as they present Australian works for flute and piano, culminating in an exciting world premiere by Lachlan Skipworth. Showcasing a new virtuosic, emotive, and decidedly vibrant style, Skipworth’s new sonata throws the music of his mentors into stark relief through what it lacks- the respective oriental and modernist leanings of Anne Boyd and Roger Smalley whose works are also featured on the program. And by adding music of Edwards, Banks and Greenbaum to the mix, this concert offers a refreshing snapshot of the kaleidoscopic colours of the Australian flute.
